Welcome to my Sluban Panzer II Tank Review of set M38 – B0691.
A lot of people have questions about the quality and compatibility of Chinese Lego knock offs so I’ll be reviewing a bunch of these military Lego style sets.
First off, Lego does not make any military sets so Sluban’s military block sets aren’t Lego rip offs. They are their own unique sets.

I always wanted to build Lego tanks as a kid but the major problem was the track system. For a while I had some rubber tracks but they weren’t big enough to build a cool looking tank.
Lego Technic tracks came in expensive sets and weren’t economical to build a few custom tanks.
Block makers like Sluban, Kazi, Gudi, Xingbao and others fill this crucial void in the building block market.

German Panzer II Tank
The German Panzer II Tank was the most numerous tank in the German Army at the beginning of World War 2. It was used extensively in the early part of the war until being retired from front line duty in 1942.
The Panzer 2 was used in the invasion of Poland, the invasion of France and Belgium, in North Africa and during the invasion of the Soviet Union.
It had a puny 20mm main gun and a secondary MG 34 machine gun. Both guns were mounted side by side in the turret which the tank a distinctive look.
Sluban Panzer II Tank Features
The Sluban Panzer 2 Tank set (M38-B0691) comes with 356 pieces and the price is right at about $15 USD.
The set includes 2 mini figures: a tank commander and an enemy soldier with a mortar, sandbags and a tree. The set also comes with some WW2 era weapons.
The designers did a decent job on making the Panzer 4 tank look like the real thing.
While not the best track system I’ve seen, the tracks move fairly well, even on carpet. The tracks are the small, thin ones offered by Sluban.
The turret rotates fully and there is a top a hatch that opens with room for 1 minifigure. Both guns move up and down.
The rear engine compartment also opens, but there’s nothing to see in there and it’s super small.
Overall, the tank is a pretty solid build for a smaller beginner level set.
