Shark Week 2019 Dates and Times

Discovery Channel released its Shark Week 2019 Dates and times and a preview. Shark Week 2019 on Discovery kicks off Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 8PM and runs until Sunday, August 4th.

We get about 20 hours of sharky action for this year’s shark week.

Comedian Rob Riggle will be back with some celebrity friends for some more shark adventures.

An episode will also feature a search for Deep Blue – the largest great white shark on the planet!

I can’t wait for Shark Week 2019. This show has become a summer tradition for me ever since the early 1990s!

This year I expect to see more Air Jaws, Shark After Dark and Sharks of the Abyss.

I expect most of the features to be filmed in places like the Bahamas, South Africa and Australia.

The Bahamas is one of the best shark diving and shark research spots in the world.

So many different species of shark inhabit the waters of the Bahamas.

Oceanic White Tips can be found off Cat Island. You can take a guided tour to dive or snorkel with them. This is one dive trip I’d like to do someday.

Tiger Beach is famous for its up close encounters with huge tiger sharks as well as the resident Lemon Sharks. Definitely one of the best dive trips I ever did. I highly recommend taking a trip to Tiger Beach.

The waters off Bimini offer a chance to get up close with one of the coolest sharks out there: the Great Hammerhead. I’ve always wanted to see one up close.

Finally, if you’re up for a cool shark dive, the Bahamian islands have lots of Caribbean Reef sharks cruising the coral reefs. While these guys aren’t as exciting as the Tigers, Hammers and Oceanics, they are some of coolest, sleekest, most beautiful sharks around. I just love those Reefies!
