Welcome to this Cobi Lego Tiger Ferdinand Tank Review of set 2496.
I bought this iconic German tank destroyer as a companion to my other German tanks including the Tiger 1, Panzer IV, Panther Tank and the Tiger 2 or King Tiger Tank.
If you follow this website, you’ll know that I love building Lego tanks and Cobi makes the absolute best Lego compatible tanks around.

German Ferdinand Tank Destroyer
Just in time for the decisive tank Battle of Kursk, the Sd. Kfz. 184 Panzerjäger Tiger was a German heavy tank destroyer used during World War II. The Ferdinand was designed on the chassis of Tiger (P) prototype made by the Porsche Company.
The bullets shot from this cannon could destroy frontal armor of every allied tank. The cannon was placed in the quarterdeck instead of the rotating turret. The advantage was also the height of the vehicle.
By the end of the Battle of Kursk, 40 Ferdis were lost, but they destroyed over 500 Soviet tanks!
Cobi Ferdinand Tank
The Cobi Ferdinand Tank set 2496 comes with 515 pieces and 2 mini figures. The set also has some World War 2 era weapons.
Cobi Ferdinand Tank Features
Like other Cobi Tank sets, the Ferdinand set has some pretty cool features. This set is 100 Lego compatible for all you Lego Fans out there.
First, the main gun is absolutely massive with a custom muzzle break on the end. The gun moves up and down.
This massive tank has 5 hatches that open and close. 2 at the front, 2 on top of the turret and 1 at the back.
There is a compartment at the back where you can store weapons or other mini figures. This is a very large tank set.
Finally, I love the track system. It is solid, stable and works perfect on hard surfaces or carpet. The wheels move freely and the tank makes a slight screeching sound that sounds like a real tank!
There are custom printed pieces that look great. I also like the tan and drab green camouflage pattern. It matches the Tiger 2, Panzer 4 and Stug 4.
Overall this set is a fine addition to my Cobi collection and yours. I already own the Cobi Elefant Tank which is based on the Ferdinand.
