Welcome to my Cobi IS 3 Joseph Stalin Tank Review of set 2492.

I bought this tank as a companion to my IS 2 and really like it. I especially like the cool shape of the turret.

The unique Cobi tank track system as well as their cool and historically accurate designs make these really great functional toys and collector items.

Soviet IS 3 Joseph Stalin Tank

The is-3 is a Soviet heavy tank produced towards the end of world War II. It was based on its predecessor the is-2, but this version had a completely remodeled turret and body. The vehicle was characterized by its highly resistant armor. It was of a great interest to the allies who found the is-3 a very dangerous weapon.

Cobi IS 3 Joseph Stalin Tank

This set comes with 590 pieces and 2 mini figures. The tank measures 31.5 cm long (12.4 inches), 12 cm wide (4.7 inches) and 16.5 cm high (6.5 inches). Its a good size tank and one of the larger Cobi models.

Cobi IS 3 Joseph Stalin Tank Features

This set has lots of cool features.

First, the turret fully rotates 360 degrees and the main gun moves up and down.

There are 2 top hatches on the turret that open and close and .50 Cal machine gun.

On the back deck, there is an engine hatch that opens to reveal the custom molded engine.

Finally, this tank has an excellent track system that moves smoothly over hard surfaces and carpet.

My one complaint is that the gun barrel is so long that it bends slightly near the base. This could easily be fixed with glue or by using a longer piece. Hopefully Cobi will update this model with this fix.

Overall an excellent tank and a great addition to my Lego Soviet tank fleet.
