Welcome to my Cobi Tiger 131 Review of set 2519.
I bought this iconic German Tiger tank as a companion to my other German tanks including the Tiger 1, Panzer IV, Panther Tank and the Tiger 2 or King Tiger Tank.

The Iconic German Tiger Tank 131
The Tiger 131 is the only operating Tiger tank in the world. This vehicle was captured by soldiers of 48 Royal Regiment of tanks on a hill called djebel djaffa on April 21, 1943.
This was in the last month of the Campaign in Tunisia (Africa). It is the only Tiger captured by British and American troops intact. It was brought by the Germans to Tunisia between March 22 and April 16, 1943 and brought into battle with the 48th royal tank Regiment near medjez-el-bab on April 21, 1943.
Cobi Tiger 131 Tank
This set comes with 550 pieces and 2 tank museum mini figures. This is an updated set than the previous Cobi Tiger 131 set 2477.
Cobi Tiger 131 Features
This is a really cool tank and is a slightly different design than the old Tiger 131.
The turret fully rotates 360 degrees and the main gun moves up and down. The muzzle brake is a custom solid 1 piece versus the older 2 piece version.
On top of the turret there are 2 hatches that open and close for mini figures. The commanders hatch has a cupola, something the old Tiger 131 lacked.
At the front, there is a hull mounted custom molded machine gun. On top of the hull there are 2 hatches that open and close, and can fit mini figures.
At the back, there is an engine hatch that opens and closes. And of course it has the custom designed engine air filters.
Finally, the tank tracks are superb. They are the usual high quality Cobi tracks that I rave about on this website. The front drive wheel is slightly higher on this model versus the older Tiger 131 model. It makes it look more realistic to the actual Tiger tank look and the tracks appear a little looser.
There is also lots of custom printing on this set. You get the German World War 2 era insignia like the Iron Cross, but also all the battle damage marks on the real Tiger 131. I thought that was pretty cool to include in the set.
Overall this tank is an excellent addition to my German armored forces. I absolutly love how the tank moves: tracks are clicking, wheels screeching. It kinda sounds like the real thing!
