Welcome to my Cobi Heinkel He 111 Review of set 5534.
I’ve reviewed a lot of the Cobi tanks on this site and now I finally received my first Cobi plane to review: the Heinkel HE 111. I will definitely be buying more Cobi World War 2 Planes.
The Cobi Heinkel He 111 Bomber rules! I can’t wait to tell you guys about all the features below. But first some background info on the He 111 and my affiliate disclosure.

German Heinkel He 111 Bomber
The He 111 prototype was flown in 1938. This version was produced from late autumn 1938 in variants: He-111P-0- pre-series variant, He-111P-1- the first series variant, started working in military units in the spring of 1939; He-111P-2- produced since May 1939, had a FuG 10 radio station in place of the previously used FuG III; and the He-111P-3- school variant, produced in a small quantity.
The He-111P-4 variant had reinforced defensive armament for an additional 4 machine guns. Two of them led fire through the windows placed on both sides of the hull. They were serviced by an additional fifth member of a crew.
Another mobile MG 15 was placed in the front of the cabin above the turntable. Few planes received an additional MG 17 fixed machine gun caliber 7.92 mm, remotely operated by the pilot using a periscope target. Production began at the beginning of 1940.
Cobi Heinkel He 111 Bomber
The Cobi set comes with 610 pieces, 3 mini figures, custom molded machine guns and realistic looking bombs!
The plane is a good size too. It measures 41 cm long (16.1 inches), 51 cm wide (20 inches) and 12 cm tall (4.7 inches).
This is one of the more expensive Cobi sets that sell for around $70 USD.
Cobi Heinkel He 111 Bomber Features
I have to say this bomber is awesome! I love how real the model looks. It has machine gun turrets, the retractable landing gear, wing flaps that move up and down, and realistic twin propeller engines.
Of course, my favorite is the bomb bay doors that open and release the bombs.
The mini figures have nice high quality printing like other Cobi sets.
I also really like the shades of green camouflage on the plane.
The one thing that I’m not super pleased with is that this set comes with stickers instead of the usual high quality printed pieces!
But it is overall a great model and I dont regret buying it for one second!
