Soviet T34 Tank
The T-34 is a Soviet medium tank that had a profound and lasting effect on the field of tank design. At its introduction in 1940, the T-34 possessed an unprecedented combination of firepower, mobility, protection and ruggedness. Its 76.2 mm (3 in) high-velocity tank gun provided a substantial increase in firepower over any of its contemporaries while its well-sloped armour was difficult to penetrate by most contemporary anti-tank weapons.
When it was first encountered in 1941, German general Paul Ludwig Ewald von Kleist called it “the finest tank in the world” and Heinz Guderian affirmed the T-34’s “vast superiority” over existing German armour of the period. Although its armour and armament were surpassed later in the war, it has often been credited as the most effective, efficient and influential tank design of the Second World War.
Cobi T34 / 85 Tank
This set comes with 505 pieces and 1 mini figure. The tank measures 29cm long, 12cm wide and about 10cm high. So it’s a good sized tank!
Cobi T34 / 85 Tank Features
This tank has some great features.
First let me start off with saying that this has one of the best tank track systems of the entire Cobi line! Yes that’s right this tank just rolls so smoothly and naturally its truly amazing. It was really well designed.
The turret fully rotates 360 degrees and the gun moves up and down.
There is 1 round hatch on top of the turret and a mini figure can fit inside.
At the rear of the tank there is an engine hatch that opens to reveal a custom designed tank engine.
The back of the tank flips up and you can squeeze a mini figure in that area too.
The front of the tank opens up too and there is room for a mini figure or two. There is also a square custom printed hatch at the front that opens. You can actually have a mini figure stick a gun out of the hatch too.
Next to that hatch is a hull mounted machine gun that is custom designed to look like the real thing. This gun moves up and down.
There is also lots of custom designed and printed pieces with set that is really well done. The thing I like about Cobi is that their sets don’t come with annoying stickers! The pieces are custom high quality printing.
Overall this is an awesome set by Cobi and you’ll be happy you bought it! I’m actually thinking about buying a second one!
