Welcome to my Cobi Tiger 2 Königstiger (Porsche Turret) Review of set 2480.
This tank was officially designated as the SD. Kfz. 182 Ausf. B, the Königstiger (King Tiger).
I love building Lego tanks and Cobi makes the absolute best Lego compatible tanks around.
The unique Cobi tank track system as well as their cool and historically accurate designs make these really great functional toys and collector items.

German King Tiger Tank
The Tiger II is a German heavy tank of the Second World War. The final official German designation was Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B, often shortened to Tiger B. The ordnance inventory designation was Sd.Kfz. 182. It is also known under the informal name Königstiger (the German name for the Bengal tiger), often translated literally as Royal Tiger, or somewhat incorrectly as King Tiger by Allied soldiers, especially by American forces.
The Tiger II was the successor to the Tiger I, combining the latter’s thick armour with the armour sloping used on the Panther medium tank. The tank weighed almost 70 tonnes, and was protected by 100 to 185 mm (3.9 to 7.3 in) of armour to the front. It was armed with the long barrelled 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 anti-tank cannon. The chassis was also the basis for the Jagdtiger turretless Jagdpanzer anti-tank vehicle.
Cobi Tiger 2 (Porsche Turret)
This set is one of the larger Tank sets. It comes with 630 pieces and 3 mini figures as well as World War 2 era weapons.
Cobi Tiger 2 (Porsche Turret) Features
The Cobi Tiger 2 Königstiger (Porsche Turret) has some really cool features.
First, the main gun is huge and moves up and down. The turret also fully rotates 360 degrees.
The top of the turret has 2 hatches that open and mini figures can fit inside. There is also an MG 34 machine gun mounted in front of the round hatch.
There is a hatch at the back of the turret to load the ammo for the main gun. This set comes with 2 shells for the main gun which is a really nice feature.
In the rear, there is an engine hatch that opens to reveal a custom Cobi engine that looks really cool.
At the front of the tank there are 2 more hatches that open for mini figures. Finally, there is a hull mounted MG 34 machine gun that is custom molded and looks real.
This set comes with custom printing on pieces instead of annoying stickers that always peel off. Cobi does a great job with the custom printing. It adds a lot of great details to their sets.

This tank is the ultimate symbol of Nazi oppression! I am actually trying to troop build a lot of the tanks by getting 2 or 3.

I really like the Tiger 2 as well. I recently built the new world of tanks Tiger 1 set 3000B and it is by far the best Tiger 1 I built so far. I have the old model Tiger 131 so I’ll be doing a comparison between the 2 sometime.
