Cobi Stug IV Review

Welcome to my Cobi Stug IV Review of set 2482. The Stug IV was a World War 2 German assault gun that quickly took on the role of Tank Destroyer.

This Cobi model is historically accurate and highly detailed. The unique Cobi tank track system is simply the best there is. The tank rolls smoothly and makes a clacking sound that mimics the real thing.

German Sturmgeschütz IV (StuG IV)

The Sturmgeschütz IV (StuG IV) (Sd.Kfz. 167), was a Germanassault gun variant of the Panzer IV used in the latter part of the Second World War. It was identical in role and concept to the highly successful StuG III assault gun variant of the Panzer III.

Both StuG models were given an exclusively tank destroyer role in German formations and tactical planning in the last two years of the war, greatly augmenting the capability of the dwindling tank force available to the German army on the Eastern and Western fronts.

Over the course of the war, Stug IIIs and IVs destroyed nearly 30,000 mostly Soviet tanks. The Stug IIIs and IVs were very successful tank killers due to their low profile.

The Cobi Stug IV comes with 410 pieces and 2 mini figures with World War 2 era weapons like the Panzerfaust and MG34 machine gun.

Cobi Stug IV Features

The Cobi Stug IV features a main gun that moves up and down. The base of the gun has a custom molded piece that resembles a pig’s snout which is accurate to the Stug IIIs and IVs as seen in the photo above.

The top of the turret has 2 hatches that open – one commander hatch and a gunner’s hatch with a mounted MG 34 machine gun.

The is also an engine hatch at the rear of the vehicle where you can see the custom Cobi designed engine inside the tank.

There is also custom printing on some of the blocks which is really cool. There are NO stickers to peel off and put on.
