Quan Guan Jedi Tank Soviet KV-2 Heavy Tank Review

Welcome to my Quan Guan Jedi Tank Soviet KV-2 Heavy Tank review of set 100071. This is the off brand Lego Soviet tank that I built and I’m impressed.

This set is a direct rip off from the Cobi KV-2 brick set.

A lot of people have questions about the quality and compatibility of Chinese Lego knock offs so I’ll be reviewing a bunch of these military Lego style sets.

I always wanted to build Lego tanks as a kid but the major problem was the track system. For a while I had some rubber tracks but they weren’t big enough to build a cool looking tank.

Lego Technic tracks came in expensive sets and weren’t economical to build a few custom tanks.

So I’m happy that block makers like Cobi, Sluban, Kazi, Gudi, Xingbao and others fill this crucial void in the building block market.

Soviet KV-2 Tank

The Soviet KV-2 was a monster plain and simple. It had a massive 155mm main gun and was designed for bunker busting in the war against Finland in 1940/41.

When the Germans invaded Russia in the Spring of 1941 their Panzer 2s and 3s were completely outgunned by these tanks. In fact, the main guns of the German tanks could not penetrate the thick armor of the KV-2. So artillery and anti-tank guns had to be used to destroy the KV-2s.

This is a really cool set of the iconic Soviet Tank the German’s dubbed (Goliath). Just imagine the puny German Panzer 3’s encountering this beast during Operation Barbarossa!

The set comes with 818 pieces, 3 mini figures and lots of WW2 era Soviet weapons including the DShK heavy machine gun!

Guys this tank is super cool and realistic looking. As with the other QG sets I reviewed I love the track system based on the Cobi design. The tracks move great and sound fantastic.

Turret fully rotates and the top hatch opens to place a commander or gunner. There is also a hatch at the rear of the turret that opens.

Next I like the realistic mounted machine gun. It’s way better than the Lego style antenna or shifter.

There is also a realistic V12 Tank engine at the back with a hatch that opens.

The bricks are really great quality. I’d say not as good as LEGO but a cut above the Kazi bricks.

The set comes with 3 mini figures and the printing is exceptional. There’s no smudging on them.

Overall a great set and great value.
