Hey everyone and welcome to this update on my Lego and Cobi World War 2 MOC.
I’ve done something that I’ve never done before. I built a Lego church!
I previously built a large grey factory building and several damaged houses. I was looking to add another building but only had an odd mix of pieces.
Then I had the idea of building a small town church for this World War 2 era village. At first, I wasn’t sure that the mix of colors and pieces would work, but in the end I think it turned out great.
Let me know what you guys think.
The most challenging part of this build was the roof. Each end has a bunch of 45 angle pieces and to provide more support I had to put 1 in the middle. I basically made a rail so that the middle of the roof is supported and connected. It worked out great!
Here are the pics:
This is the front view. I had 2 large brown doors and a bunch of archways so made use of them. I also had a variety of 1×1 round tiles that I used to to give it a stone walkway look.
Finally, small town churches don’t usually have big steeples (I didn’t have the pieces anyway). So I went with a small cross that’s inline with the church’s peak.
This is the right side view of the church. You can see all the profile bricks in different colors that I used. Overall I think the look is pretty good. I made 4 arch windows. I wanted to attempt some stained glass but I didn’t have the pieces.
Here is the left side view. It is identical to the right side.
This is the backside view fo the church. The roof fits tighter than it shows in the pic.
